Anima Eterna Brugge

The close relationship between Anima Eterna Brugge and the Concertgebouw has repeatedly resulted in revelations. One of them was the rediscovery of Russian music. Work by the great orchestrator Rimsky-Korsakov was - and still is - all too rarely performed on the instruments and in the configuration for which his colourful compositions were devised. Just as he did with the work of Tchaikovsky and Borodin, Jos van Immerseel subjected these works to his characteristic historically-informed approach. The resounding result was nothing less than revolutionary. More than ten years after that groundbreaking CD recording (live in the Concertgebouw!) it's time to pay a repeat visit to this enchanting repertoire. The soloist in the timeless Shéhérazade serenade is the flamboyant Chouchane Siranossian, who already proved herself last season in Ravel’s Tzigane.
