A protracted breath, from the ars subtilior to now

A protracted breath and then silence. Thanks to its simplicity, the recorder is probably the closest instrument to the human body. Trio Apsara build the bridge from the ingenious ars subtilior of the late-medieval period to today's composers, in close connection with the breath of life. Featuring, among others, Spiritus by Frederic Rzewski and Three by John Cage.
