Innovative account of an unrequited love

Hector Berlioz dealt with his hopeless, unrequited love for an actress in his spectacular Symphonie fantastique. To say that the main character is going through ups and downs is just about the understatement of the century. Despair, bliss, murder, witchcraft: Berlioz really pulled out all the stops in what would become a milestone in music history. In Saint-Saëns’ Second Piano Concerto more dark drama emerges. Its pinch of folk humour and a dash enchanting charm make this concerto his most beloved.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Nicholas Angelich is replaced as soloist by David Kadouch.
