Moving opening concert
Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis is one of Bach's best-known early cantatas. And with good reason: it has an oboe solo that grabs you by the scruff of the neck from the very first notes. Herreweghe inspires as only he can in a Bach programme that calls for dedication, trust and courage.
Soprano Dorothee Mields unfortunately has to cancel her concerts during the Bach Academy due to illness. She will be replaced for this concert by Grace Davidson.
