Part of Abo Orchestral 18-19
In his poem Die erste Walpurgisnacht Goethe penned a pagan folk tale. In his A Midsummer Night's Dream Shakespeare opted for jokes and jests. Mendelssohn set both texts to music that tingles the imagination: dark and spooky on the one hand, dancing and enchanting on the other. The musicians of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the singers of the famous Stuttgart Chamber Choir are the perfect performers for this colourful feast.
Baritone Thomas Bauer will be replaced by Stephan Genz for this concert.
