Surprising encounters between old and new(er)
Katrien Baerts surprises us with a unique combination of old and not-so-old as she contrasts the joys of Bach with the gloominess of Shostakovich's latter years. The youthful ardour of Shostakovich's First Piano Trio bridges the gap between the two.
Soprano Dorothee Mields unfortunately has to cancel her concerts during the Bach Academy due to illness. She will be replaced for this concert by Katrien Baerts.
