Baroque opera production touches everyone’s heart
When Cupid and Death spend the night at the same inn, their arrows are accidentally switched, with chaotic results. Cupid kills young lovers, while Death makes enemies fly into each other’s arms. With its comic dialogues, grotesque dances, recitatives and abstract songs, Cupid & Death paved the way for English opera.
