‘Christmas without the Christmas Oratorio is only half the story,’ say the adventurous Ensemble Resonanz. ‘No matter how many times you have heard or played it, it is never enough. And with its 64 ‘numbers’, this work is so extensive that everyone can distil his own concert version from it.’ The Berliners made this work their home, invited over some friends and – with the utmost respect – questioned every note. Take a seat in their living room, where players become singers and baroque violins are every bit as welcome as vintage keyboards.
