For 10 years, Swiss photographer Mario Del Curto travelled the world investigating the relationship between humans and plants. He invites his viewers to ponder on the future. Among other thought-provoking images, he has photographed, for example, Kazakhstan’s threatened wild apple forests, the urban gardens and cemeteries of several world cities, Bomarzo’s eccentric ‘park of the monsters’ and the seed bank of Saint Petersburg’s Vavilov Institute. With his powerful, symbolic images, he reveals the garden in all of its incarnations: nourishing, scientific, graceful, artistic and political.
