Patches of unspoilt nature

For the exhibition walk_about, Jean Godecharle wandered through deserted landscapes. Along the way, he photographed waste earth and stone rubble, overgrown with mosses, trees and bushes. The result is a series of meticulous images, beautiful and fragile, imbued with the visual richness of the world. Often they seem like patches of unspoilt nature, little islands of dense and tactile greenery that have been enlarged into a forest that reaches out into the vast, the unimaginable, the eternal, the great void. These photos are both dreamy and detached: we walk upon a layer of soft moss, but we can feel the rocks underneath.

Learn all about the photographer on Sunday, 5 July or Sunday, 9 August at a meeting with Jean Godecharle.

Combine the expo with Concertgebouw Circuit, our original visitor’s trail brimming with art and architecture. Or visit the Jean Godecharle expo before or after a performance in Concertgebouw Brugge as from the 1th of September.
