Il trionfo in a wider context

In his younger years Handel worked in Italy where a new vocal world opened up for him. That Italian environment inspired him to compose his only true oratorio from that period, the impressive Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno. In this series of lectures, Yves Senden will first explore Handel’s Italian period and then focus on his further development: from his Italian operas, to concertos and suites, and finally to his English oratorios.
