In Kontakte (1960) cult composer Karlheinz Stockhausen turns his back on traditional classical music. By adding electronics to the usual sound arsenal, he manages to create a single musical universe and extend the contact between performers and listeners. HERMESensemble radicalise this in their performance of Stockhausen’s Solo: a musician in Bruges has a live dialogue with a colleague on the other side of the world. Season’s composer Daan Janssens and composer Daniela Fantechi formulate a contemporary answer to Stockhausen's enigmas.
Orpheus Institute provides an introduction to the concert at 19.15 in the Chamber Music Hall. During this introduction Karl-Heinz Stockhausen's Solo will be performed.
