Giovanni Arnolfini's Choirbook reached Italy in the hands of John Hothby. This English composer, singer and musical theorist made such a name for himself in Bruges that Lucca Cathedral was eager to hire him. From Hothby himself we hear Una panthera, a reference to the City of Lucca's coat of arms.
