Our impact on the world’s climate is evident. But what can artists do about this problem? Trio Mashrabiya search for an answer in their diverse international backgrounds: from Istanbul to India, from Afghan classical music to an Arabian wind from Yemen. Their music reflects nature in its wonderful essence, because in the Sufi tradition the word ‘mashrab’, which is attributed to wine, is used symbolically to describe the beauty and the ecstasy of the divine presence.
New music inspired by the traditions of the Middle East and Central Asia
