‘Competitions are for horses, not artists,’ said Béla Bartók, more than a century ago. The Queen Elisabeth Competition nevertheless manages to stir the hearts of music lovers year after year. A whole palette of emotions unites them: passion, joy, sorrow, sympathy, resistance… In this 81st edition violinists battle for our hearts. Grab the chance to see your favourite candidate at work during (one of) the two laureate concerts.
