Florilegium Portense is a unique piece of the puzzle of J. S. Bach's genius. Every week, Bach drew upon some of this collection’s 265 German and Italian motets, many of them by star composers, such as Lassus, Praetorius and Gabrieli. Over the coming years, Vox Luminis – Klara's ensemble of the year – will be publishing and recording the Florilegium. This evening they present a first proof of the work and an insight into the work process. The climax of the evening is Bach's Jesu, meine Freude.
