It’s practically an obstacle course: while the musicians try to play a bit of Beethoven, their instruments are disassembled. Further along, in Pietà, a motorised cello take on a life of its own. In his latest work, Russian Alexander Chernyshkov also plays with motorbikes; they interact with four musicians. Michael Maierhof displays a buzzing circus, with electric toothbrushes top of the bill. Just like in a museum, the audience can wander freely, through the music and past the musicians.
