French Baroque in exquisite mini-configuration
Grand and majestic, that was Louis XIV’s motto the moment he set his foot outside the door. But indoors, even for him, not everything was glitter and bombast. An exceptionally cultivated man, Louis knew how to appreciate refinement, especially in music. Chamber musicians such as Couperin and De Visée - active at table and bed - could therefore count on a high degree of royal favour. After residencies across Europe, the young musicians of Repicco finally visit Flanders.
