From 1 to 3 September 2021, KU Leuven and UGent brought the Building Simulation Congress to Bruges. It had been 1985 since this international congress was held in Belgium.
Concertgebouw Brugge opened its doors to 300 participants on the first conference day 'Impact Day'. Construction professionals, architects, researchers, students... attended sessions on the theme 'building presentations and building simulations'. These sessions took place throughout the Concertgebouw, both frontstage and backstage.
The congress was organised with technical support from the Bruges firm Aventix. Traiteur Cardinal provided all the catering, which - because of the Covid-19 measures - was entirely seated in the various rooms.
We gave the event a Concertgebouw touch by concluding with a private concert in the main Concert Hall.
This conference did not go unnoticed by Channel Z either.
Concertgebouw Brugge, with its professional and artistic touch, provided the perfect venue for the BS2021 Impact Day. Researchers, academics, industry, designers, architects and policy gathered in Bruges for plenary and parallel content sessions, dubbed Food for Thoughts. Through catered coffee breaks, a tasty lunch and a delicious dinner, attendees enjoyed Food for Body. We closed with Food for Soul via a top concert performed by young potentials. We cannot imagine a better location and support where we could experience these 3 aspects in all their fullness and colour.
