Voice festival focuses on emancipation
As we get older, we become increasingly aware of who we are and what we stand for. Youngsters figuratively and literally find their voice, which changes as part of their overall physical and mental maturation. In this festival, which has a strikingly female focus, we raise our voices. Voice virtuosos come together to offer diverse perspectives: from the mediaeval jester to Dead Ladies who should be heard. Claron McFadden, Sofia Jernberg and trans singer Lucia Lucas present new compositions in a programme that also brings us contemporary dance and American star ensemble Roomful of Teeth.
